Life Changing Words Ministry

We slept to almost eight o’clock on Thursday morning. I prepped and rearranged the suitcase innards while Bill made a couple of phone calls. Gene was actively routing four men to clean up, dust, and finish painting. We ate the leftovers before leaving for Gurgaon.

Angel, Sunil, George (daddy), and Sarah (Tina) were all waiting for us. Even Mahnsingh was back. Satish (pronounced, seteesh) was a new servant from Chandigarh; Bubli came in the evening to do a few chores. She is pregnant and due in March.

We talked till the evening meal, which turned out to be – mutton curry!

Bill went to bed before me, but I was still into bed by 10 pm. However, I woke at 2:30 am and prayed until 5 am, then fell asleep till almost 8 am. I believe it was because of what had been said to me after I had met a cousin of Sarah’s by the name of Joshua (Niki) and an element of secrecy seemed to indicate that the makeup of this young man was not good. I did not like him at my first meeting, something was wrong and I needed to pray for this family – to keep them from the evil one motivating this young man.

I keep being reminded in my spirit to pray constantly, as was also said to me before we left Oregon.

After a breakfast of fried "sandwich" egg on a parotha, Sunil & I headed off to Agnes School, now located three kilometers in the opposite direction as before in sector 35. It is in the little village of Islamapur (the place of Muslims). [Bill & Angel came about an hour later.] The currently located school is held in a small building with two rooms as classrooms for the 25 children and the room intended to be a kitchen is being used as the library. The books are in disarray and my assignment is to organize and record them in a record book. [Now I wish I had typed out the list of them at home.] I will at least put the picture books within range of reach for the children.

David is teaching the nursery children and also on the side, tutors 25 children in a poor village of Daulitabad on the road toward Grace Centre. He does the work of a pastor when he is not working in the school. The other teacher was not there, so the children spent the day reading library books. On Monday they will be taking tests/exams to complete the first half of schooling for the year. When we return in March, they will be preparing for the final school year exams. [School year begins in April then breaks until July.]

Our next jaunt was back to the house to meet Tina and have lunch before doing the "hardest job" in Gurgaon – shopping! We really only shopped for three or three and a half hours. I got several outfits for everyday use and for church. I also found 1 ½ of the 3 requests from people at home. So I know that there will be another opportunity to shop.

On Saturday we spent talking about various things. Afterwards, the Holy Spirit convicted me of talking too much. I had been cautioned that this would be a hard thing for this time, but that I had said enough in the previous times and now needed to listen more and pray. I needed to take the next step to maturity. I love to share the word, but now I have to keep it and be more sensitive to the Spirit in a deeper way.

As I step back and look again, I can see why it is more necessary to pray and listen. The demonic things and practices are really beyond my experiences as Angel has indicated. I am going to be learning new things with the people of God here, and all of it is not going to be in dancing...

In the evening, Bill shared the message at Sunil’s house church, which was set up just outside our bedroom door. I shared a testimony. The house church ends with a snack of samosa and tea for everyone.

We went to Sunday services in Delhi at the Global Christian Life Church, an Assembly of God church, with American worship music. Pastor Jayraj reminded me of David McKay with a tan. Afterwards, we went out for lunch at Angel’s favorite "fast food" spot before going back to Gurgaon.

Bill had Bible study with Luxman, his son, and two young men from his work. The two young men received Jesus. Bill will follow up with personal ministry the next morning.
