Life Changing Words Ministry
Missionary Journal
December 3, 2006
Bill and Peter enjoyed their adventure in Agra. Peter has written his journal about it and plans to get it on the website. This is his first visit to another country outside our continent. We are tickled that he is here, even if it is only for three weeks. It will help him personally and give him insight into his position as president of Life Changing Words Ministry. We pray this will only be a first and other opportunities will unfold for him in the future.
Tuesday morning the fellas returned to Sector 31. Sunil and I were already at Agnes School. Angel brought Peter to see the school. He read a simple book to the children [the Lord stretching him to do something out of the ordinary]. They listened intently, but did not understand the story until the Principal explained it to them in Hindi.
We arranged for a car to take us to the train station for our trip to Mumbai on Wednesday the 29th. We sat around visiting before Peter was taken to his room. A sense of excitement was beginning to surface as we prepared for the next kingdom adventure.
We arrived ahead of time to the train station, allowing time to negotiate with the porters how much we would pay for them to carry our bags to the bogie. The train originates in Delhi so we had time to get our things adjusted without any tension. The trip to Mumbai would take 18 hours and be uneventful. That is until we got there.
We had to have two taxis for our luggage. Pastor Paul Joseph and Deacon-in-training, Ravi, met to help us. The train to Pune was torched after we left the station. As we headed out of the main city portion to the outskirts where West Mulund is, we passed areas where police were gathering to deal with the riots beginning because a statue of some god had been damaged in the city of Kanpur, over 2000 kilometers away in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh.
Part way to our destination, the taxi in which Peter rode became disabled and he had to ride in an auto rickshaw. By the time they reached safely to Mr. & Mrs. Powar’s home, where we would be sleeping and having nasta (breakfast), the rickshaw driver had to stay within the compound until the rioting was over. According to the news, all roads were closed until the rioting and auto vandalism stopped. Their son, Rohan, is working in the modern retail store, Lifestyles, in the new mall. He told us that the auto rickshaw, that he was riding in coming home, had it’s window broken out. His was a short, but fearful ride. To think that this is the lifestyle of most ordinary people -- victimized by others is hard for us. We are very thankful for the laws and enforcement that we so often take for granted in our own country.
Peter was tired and he went to bed early after eating. He would sleep in the room with Rohan, while his mom and dad sleep on the floor in the kitchen. Bill and I were to sleep in the "drawing room"; this is the same as a livingroom at home. So until all either left or went to bed, we were up.
I started to share with Pastor and Florie, who met us at the Powars, showing them what the Lord had put in my hand to bring for them. Rohan was just playing the keyboard when we were inspired to unpack the worship tools. As soon as they were in our hands, the Holy Spirit touched us and His Presence manifested as we worshipped. Pastor and Florie were excited to see what the Lord had in store for them.
The evidence that we had stirred up something in the spirit realm manifested in the morning when I discovered that a rat had eaten through the red bag that held the worship tools. None were destroyed, but the fact that it was done was irritating and made us aware that what we did was doing damage to the demonic realm and that we are in the will of the Lord.
We had a nice nasta and Pastor fetched us to the church. We renewed our acquaintances with those who came to see us. Florie translated for me at the Friday prayer meeting where I began to share with those there what the Lord gave to me for them. Florie shared what had happened to her the evening before when I handed her a glory ring. She told us that she and pastor had been praying to the Lord to make their worship more meaningful and rich because of their love and commitment to Him and His kingdom work.
Most of our schedule with Immanuel Prayer House is to eat our nasta at the Powars and spend the rest of the day with the ministry of the church, going back at the time of sleeping. We really got a lot more done with them than even the last trip. Thank you, Lord. [This was also a prayer request from the pastor and Florie, which they revealed later.]
Saturday morning brought another evidence of Satan’s anger—another attack—my small suitcase was destroyed on the outside zippered pocket by the same culprit. After that, we didn’t have this trouble again. [It really reminded me of the year that the two separate incidents with the cows who attacked the car we were in. Satan showing us he was not happy with what was going on against him.]
Undauntedly I began to teach and learn about the worship tools. I gave a study on worship and restoring what was originally in the church that Satan had stolen over the centuries. Bill, Peter, and Pastor went to Ghatkopar, Goregaon, and Borovilli, while I was with the girls and ladies.
In the evening we all went to Warli Pada where Peter gave his testimony for the first time. [Another stretch for Peter—successfully fulfilled.] His testimony ministered to Lily. Florie gave testimony of the touch of the Lord through the use of the worship tool.
The worship in Immanuel Prayer House will never again be as it used to be as we used the worship tools for the first time. The Lord has brought a fresh wind to the worship experience for Pastor and Florie. She has recruited the deaconesses-in-training to learn, but the two girls living with pastor’s family are as excited as Florie. They are learning to experience the Presence of the Holy Spirit. Their full understanding is not yet there, but they are willing and they are feeling the glory.
Wow, Lord! How awesome You are in our eyes!!!
