Life Changing Words Ministry

Missionary Journal

December 24, 2006

Peter got off after experiencing a flat tire with the pastors. He got to the airport on time. Pastor Paul was laughing as he was relating all the places they ran to show him. I think the pastors had as much fun as Peter.

Bill started his dental appointments to get him bottom back teeth. His appointments are in the evening for the most part and a few occasional daytime ones.

Florie and I began the work to make glory rings for the worship team and at her suggestion, for the ministry in Nagaland. I would spend a lot of time with Florie giving the scripture and practical application of ministry through worship. I really had to trust the Holy Spirit to guide me in this area that I also am learning. It was decided that I would be asked to direct the Christmas program where the church can see how these tools are used. Little did I realize that this request was more adventure than I ever believed it would be.

Most of the time ladies would stop unplanned for personal ministry and prayer. I didn’t even keep track of it because of the everyday frequency of it. When I was not with anyone, I was praying and planning what the Christmas program would be. It was to be held on Monday, Christmas day.

On Friday, I started the phonogram teaching class with Jai, Poornima, Graceson, Charles, Dennis, Salome, and Joy. However, the teachers ended up being: Jai, Poornima, Joshua, Salome, and Florie, also the administrator. We had a wonderful time of fun and learning together. The sense of competition is between them and that made it more fun. I just love doing what I am doing.

We had been invited to be a part of an outdoor Christmas children’s program in a residential community about ten kilometers away. However, before we left to go, the man who invited us called to ask us to cancel. It seems that the neighbors were planning to give trouble to the gathering. He wanted us to not be a part of the trouble they needed to readjust. At least the Lord was gracious to allow a change there and the witnessing program was held on time with great success, without our attendance. Praise the Lord for His protection and keeping power.

I started to teach the worship history in a series of Wednesday evening services. We finished in time to begin the practical application of restored worship.

Bill preached the Sunday service as usual when we are there. The worship team was still learning how to praise the Lord with the worship tools and ladies were a bit stiff in their moves. The fellas even waived the streamers. It was wonderful to see them excited.

Florie and I did the decoration shopping for the Christmas program. The theme of the program would be: The Second Coming King, with a view to asking, ‘Are you ready for His return?’.

The worship team would get outfits for any future programs too. The flagbearers were Salome and Dennis, and Shuba and Sam, the couple we had to cancel seeing their children’s program. The worship dancers were: Shalan, Laxmi, Sunita, Poornima, and Florie. Joshua, Charles, Graceson, and Gladson all would have scriptures to memorize and present in two languages.

One evening we met a Christian Advocate (lawyer) in his office in front of his living quarters. When we arrived, he invited us to sit while he finished talking with a young client. He was scolding the young man and then gave him the gospel. When he said that he wanted to know about Jesus, the advocate told him to go to the church on such and such street. "Don’t expect to receive justice unless you know Jesus!" were his words to the young man and his friend as they left. Wow! Now that is ministering right where you live!!!

I woke up on the 20th December with intense socket pain in my right shoulder. I began rebuking it in the name of Jesus, but it continued. I taught in the Wednesday evening service inspite of the pain.

I kept my arm as immovable as possible. I rested it the next day by staying at home. I was given some cream to rub on it, but it did not help. Pastor took Bill and I to the local clinic. The doctor asked me what the problem was and I told him it was my arm socket. He asked me to lie down. For what, I asked. He wanted to check my blood pressure. I said it was normal because I am a woman who walks in good health. It is only my arm that is in pain. He took my blood pressure and announced it to be normal. He wrote out some prescription for some pain reliever and cream (like icy hot). We went home.

By Saturday I had a cold sore appear, but the pain was only tolerable. I still ministered. I still prepared and worked with the church on the Christmas Day program. Seems like the more I use the glory ring, the more aggravated my arm becomes. I started using my left arm, even it began to ache.

Bill gives the messages at the Immanuel Prayer House service and at the evening service in the Ghatkopar church. It was a great Christmas Eve day. Here no one gives gifts like the US, but when they visit each other, they will bring something to eat... some sweets, cake, biscuits, or simple like that.
